Peshawar: Police arrests a gang of burglars
PESHAWAR: The city police on Friday arrested a gang of four burglars, including a woman. Operations Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah told reporters at the police lines that Samina, a female member of the gang, used to visit houses on one pretext or another and spy for the gang.
He said the gang used to rob houses on the basis of information provided by Samina. Shah said that some days ago, she went to a house in Sikndar Town area of the city on the pretext of drinking water, tied an old lady who was alone at home with ropes and took away a car, Rs 32, 000 cash and other valuables. He said that the police traced the stolen car through a tracker fitted in the vehicle and arrested four accused Samina, her husband Wajid, residents of Charsadda; and Syed Anwar and Fazl Maula, residents of Badabher; from a house in Shaikh Maltoon, Mardan. Their accomplice Tariq managed to escape.
