Lahore: Banker killed over having an affair
LAHORE: A banker was shot dead, allegedly by relatives of a girl he was having an affair with, in the Wahdat Colony police precinct on Monday. The police said that Farhan Najam Butt (30) was living with his wife and two children in a flat near the Government Pilot High School, Wahdat Colony.
The police said that some unidentified men shot Farhan dead in a local market at around 7:00am. A passer-by informed the police, who moved the body to city morgue for an autopsy. Farhan’s friends told the police that he had had an affair with a girl for the last several months. They said that the girl’s brothers had earlier told Farhan to stay away from their sister, but Farhan kept on seeing her off and on. The police said that Farhan’s friends informed them that the victim had also had a scuffle with the girl’s brothers over the same issue a few days ago. The police suspect the involvement of the girl’s brothers in the killing. Wahdat Colony Station House Officer Mudassar Ullah said that Farhan was found dead in a car. He said that it was not a murder over resisting a robbery, because the police found the cash and other valuables in the car. However, he said that a case had been registered against unidentified suspects.
