Lahore: Woman killed by in-laws
LAHORE: A young woman was strangulated to death on Monday, allegedly by her husband and in-laws. Police told Daily Times that the family was also accused of severely torturing their victim, Saima, before killing her at their house on Christian Street in Mehmood Booti, Baghbanpura. Iqbal Marshal, Saima’s maternal uncle, said relations between Saima and her husband Sohail Masih had been tense for several years.
On Monday, Sohail’s brother informed Saima’s mother, Bhaggan Bibi, at around 11am that her daughter had died from cholera, police said, adding that when the family reached Sohail’s house, they saw a belt tied to her neck and bruises on various parts of her body. The police took the body to the city morgue for autopsy. A case was registered.
