Lahore: Accused police officers still at large
LAHORE: The four accused — Zubair, Talha, Muzamil and Muzaffar – allegedly raped Tayyaba in Sidhanwali village in Ferozewala and left her in a critical condition. Former IG Azhar Hassan Nadeem suspended DSP Khadim Hussain and SHO Syed Riaz Hussain Shah of Narang Mandi police station for not nominating the main accused, Zubair, in the FIR.
On his orders an FIR was registered against the two officers under Section 201 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 155 of the Police Order 2002 on March 16.After disciplinary action against the DSP and the SHO, the police arrested Zubair but declared the other three accused innocent. Sources in the police said that the DSP had obtained a post arrest bail from the additional and sessions court, but it was later cancelled on April 11 for not registering the case. The SHO did not obtain bail from any court, but is currently serving at Ferozewala Police Station.
