Lahore: Rangers kill 2 smugglers
LAHORE: Pakistan Rangers have gunned down two suspected smugglers, trying to cross the border illegally from India at Qasim Post near Wagha on Thursday, while their third accomplice fled. On Thursday morning, Pakistan Rangers personnel set up a special picket at Qasim Post, where they monitored three men, carrying luggage on their shoulders, entering Pakistan.
The Rangers told the three men to stop, but they ran back towards the Indian side, leaving their luggage behind. The officials opened fire and killed two of them, while the third man managed his escape. The Rangers found 50 bottles of liquor from the culprits’ luggage, and handed over the bodies to the city police. The police have registered a case and sent the bodies to the city mortuary for autopsies.
