Woman held in husband’s murder case
RAWALPINDI: The Westridge police have arrested a woman allegedly involved in the murder of her husband and busted a robbers’ gang recovering valuables worth Rs 1.364m from them, said City Police Officer (CPO) Rao Muhammad Iqbal while addressing a press conference on Thursday.
The CPO said police in connection with the murder case of Muhammad Umer, 62, arrested his third wife Samina Naz along with her five accomplices, the CPO said, adding Umer, who had been working with a Abu Dhabi-based firm, had come home on leave and was found killed in his house on April 18.
According to the investigation, CPO said, Samina Naz had developed illicit relations with her driver Abdul Majeed. She confessed that with the help of Abdul Majeed, Hamyun Akhtar, Muhammad Khan, Muhammad Adil and Zahida Parveen she had hired an assassin, Hajab Gul, at Rs 250,000 to kill her husband.
