Rawalpindi: Karal Chowk firing case adjourned
RAWALPINDI: Anti-Terrorism Court No I on Friday adjourned hearing into Karal Chowk firing case till June 10. Judge Chaudhry Habibur Rehman adjourned the hearing after recording statements of witnesses. Karal police had arrested Muhammad Saddique and Nasir Shah and registered cases against them under Anti-Terrorism Act.
The two were allegedly involved in a gunbattle between activists of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Islamabad Highway near Karal Chowk on December 27, 2007. Two PML-N workers were among four killed in the incident that took place when Nawaz Sharif was on his way from Gujar Khan to Rawalpindi to attend a public gathering.
