Hyderabad: Police clear prime accused in brutalised cop’s case
HYDERABAD: Police have submitted a charge-sheet in the case of the brutalised policeman, Ali Hassan Solangi, to the sixth extra joint civil and judicial magistrate, clearing three prime accused of charges on the basis of their alibis.
According to Hatri police’s investigation wing, the challan submitted two days ago cleared Qasimabad Taluka Nazim Noor Mohammad Shoro, his brother, Deedar Shoro and his nephew, Jam Khan Shoro of charges levelled against them by Solangi.
The rest of four accused Sahib Khan, Haneef Shoro, Ganwar Chandio and Hayat Chandio, who are on pre-arrest bail, have been challaned. Senior Investigating Officer Ghulam Nabi Panwhar said that the three prime accused were cleared after they produced documentary evidence in support of their alibis and its verification by police.

He said that Deedar Shoro was hospitalised in Karachi and Noor Mohammad Shoro was attending to him at the hospital. Police had obtained the doctor’s statement and the hospital’s record proving their stay there, he said. Nevertheless, the names of the accused had been put in column-2 of the charge sheet, leaving it to court either to try or exonerate them as it deemed fit, he said.
The remaining four accused who had been challaned have obtained pre-arrest bails and police have moved an application, seeking cancellation of their bail. The court has fixed May 27 for hearing the case and June 7 for hearing the actual attempted murder case.
