Karachi: Former MQM worker shot dead
KARACHI: Unidentified armed men killed on Friday night a former activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) within the jurisdiction of the Sharifabad Police Station. The deceased, Faisal, 22, was shot dead near his residence at Gharibabad, said SHO S.M. Raza. His body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Soon after his marriage a year and a half ago, he was arrested on charges of robbery and was released from jail recently. Quoting the deceased’s mother, the SHO said that he had had a dispute with his in-laws and his family claims that his in-laws killed him.
He went on to say that while the killing was targeted, there was no evidence that the killing was politically oriented. There were reports that Faisal was a former MQM activist. Further investigation is in progress and no FIR was registered till filing of this report. Faisal recieved eight bullet wounds and died on the spot. He has left behind a wife and a child that was born a day before he was shot.
