Rawalpindi: ANF arrests 2 smugglers, seizes 10 kg heroin
RAWALPINDI: Regional Directorate of Anti Narcotics Force (ANF), Rawalpindi, has arrested a woman and a Nigerian national for drug trafficking and seized 10 kg heroin from their custody, said a press release issued on Friday. Shahnaz Shahzad was arrested from Islamabad International Airport on Thursday with three kg heroin in her suitcase. During investigation, she revealed that the heroin was handed her by Enenmuo Chetanna Dave, a Nigerian national, residing in Rawalpindi.
Then the ANF arrested Dave from his residence and seized seven kg heroin from a suitcase, placed under his bed. The press release said Shahzad came in contact with Dave in a church in Lahore and latter the two developed friendship. Dave used Shahzad in smuggling drugs to Malaysia. On March 31, he handed her a bag full of heroin, which she delivered at Kuala Lumpur before returning to Pakistan on April 8, it claimed, adding she was paid $2,700 for this trip.
The ANF has registered a case under CNS Act 1997 against the two and further investigation was in progress. 2 policemen suspended Regional Police Officer (RPO) Nasir Khan Durrani has suspended Hazro police station house officer (SHO) and in charge of Ghorshtai police post in Attock and called them to Police Lines, said a press release issued on Friday.
It said Durrani had also ordered registration of a case against the two police officials on charges of criminal negligence in arranging proper security for a bank, which was robbed on Thursday. The bank manager and guard would also be booked on the same charges. Four armed men broke into Maskinabad branch of the Muslim Commercial Bank, Hazro, and robbed Rs 2 million, four cell phones and Rs 0.5 million travel cheques from customers before they fled.
