Two women, 4 children from the same family found dead
LAHORE: Two women and four children of the same family were found slaughtered in their house in Deen Colony, Shalamar, on Saturday evening. The police said that Sajid, an employee of the Agriculture Department and head of the deceased family, returned from his office and discovered the bodies of his wife Uzma, children Kashaf (8), Jawad (7), Bisma (5) and Fahad (3), and mother-in-law Sabiha.
Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Superintendent of Police (SP) Omer Virk told Daily Times that the police would investigate the matter on all possible grounds including an old enmity, family dispute and robbery. He said that it was earlier to say anything about the reason behind the mass murder. The SP said that circumstantial evidence showed that the killer (s) had a grudge against the family.
He said that autopsy reports would reveal if the deceased were intoxicated or not, because the house was situated in a congested area and neighbours did not seem to know about the incident. Sajid was living with his in-laws in Deen Colony for the last nine years, and his father-in-law, Latif, was a landlord and residing in Bhai Pheroo.
On Saturday at around 700pm, Sajid returned home and found that there was no electricity. He called his children and wife many times, but got no response. Then he lit a gas lamp and found his children dead in their bedroom.
He screamed for help and searched for his wife and mother-in-law. He found Uzma’s slaughtered body in the storeroom, and Sabiha’s body from the upper portion of the house. Meanwhile, neighbours also reached there and informed the police.
