Lahore: Man killed in shooting incident
LAHORE: A passer-by was shot dead when a group of men shot at their rivals in Islampura police precinct in the wee hours on Sunday. The victim, identified as Muzammil Shah, was on his way home when he fell victim to the firing. According to the police, two groups namely Aurangzeb and Kakay Khan Pathan had a scuffle over a minor issue on Saturday noon. Pathan group allegedly nursed grudge and planned to take revenge from the Aurangzeb group.
Aurangzeb told the police that he was going to Sanda early on Sunday along with Abdul Wahid and Ali Shah when five unidentified people appeared in a car and tried to kidnap Ali Shah. He said that the accused also thrashed them when they tried to stop them. The accused then started firing and a bullet hit a passer-by namely Muzammil Shah, killing him instantly. A case has also been registered against the Pathan group. The investigation officer said that Kakay Khan Pathan was already nominated in a case and had been declared a proclaimed offender.
