Security guard killed in Defence Housing Authority
KARACHI: A private security guard of a prize bond dealer was killed by two bandits who also took away his repeater gun and Rs1 million prize bonds in Defence Housing Authority. Gizri police said Abdul Aziz, bond dealer, was on his way with his guard, Mohammed Iqbal, in his Mehran car when two bandits on a motorcycle intercepted him near Sultan Masjid.
They said the robbers held the prize bond dealer and his guard hostage at gunpoint and snatched prize bonds and the repeater from them. The bandits became jittery and opened fire when the security guard struggled with them. The body of the 35-year-old guard was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where paramedics said the victim was shot from a very close range as the bullet went through his upper torso. The victim was a resident of Kala Pull and originally hailed from Abbottabad.
