Karachi: Ex-CJ’s daughter threatened
KARACHI: The Artillery Maidan police registered on Thursday an FIR on threatening phone calls from unidentified callers to the daughter of the former chief justice of the Sindh High Court (SHC) Justice Fazal Soomro. FIR No. 90/08 (Under Sections 324, 506-B, 29) according to Telegraph Act was registered on behalf of Pyar Ali, an employee of the former CJ. Ali stated that he and the CJ’s daughter – 22-year-old Pinky – were at home when the CJ was out of the city. An unidentified caller threatened them by saying, “You were saved when we attacked both of you at Karachi Club”.
Explaining the incident, Saddar Town SP Ameer Sheikh told Daily Times that on May 23, an unidentified girl, a resident of Garden area, was shot in the leg while jogging at the Karachi Club. Pinky and Ali both were also jogging there when the incident took place. Quoting the CJ’s daughter, SP Sheikh said she did not understand what had happened at the time. The SP said that their phone records were being gathered.
