Lahore: Man killed by brother, nephews over property
LAHORE: A man was killed by the firing of his younger brother, two nephews, and their two unidentified accomplices over property in Shalamar on Saturday morning. The police said that the deceased’s two brothers had earlier been killed by their family, and the deceased’s son was in jail for murdering one of them.
Shalamar Police said that on Saturday, Abdul Majeed (50) was leaving for work when his younger brother, Iftikhar alias Khari, and nephews, Tariq and Shafqat, along with two unidentified men went to his house and fired at him. The police said that Majeed died instantly, and the alleged murderers fled while firing in the air. The police said that neighbours came out from their houses after hearing gunshots and informed the police. A police team reached the scene, shifted the body to the city mortuary for an autopsy and registered a case on the complaint of the deceased’s wife, Faiza Majeed. The Shalamar Police duty officer said that the enmity started around seven years ago over the division of an inherited property. He said that so far seven people had been killed over the issue, including three brothers. He said that earlier, the deceased’s younger brother, Shabbir alias Hero had killed his elder brother, Zulfiqar, in a scuffle, and Abdul Majeed’s son, Faisal, killed Shabbir for setting the score. He said that Faisal had been arrested and was in jail. He said that Iftikhar, his son Tariq and Shabbir’s son, Shafqat, along with two unidentified accomplices had now avenged the murder of Shabbir by killing Abdul Majeed.
