Lahore: Criminal gang busted
LAHORE: Ravi Town Investigation Police Division on Friday arrested a gang of seven criminals involved in a number of incidents in the city and seized looted property worth Rs 3.5 million from them.
According to sources, Deputy Inspector General (Investigation) Mustaq Ahmad Sukhera had directed Senior Superintendent Police (Investigation) Zulfiqar Hameed to take action against criminal gangs involved in godowns robberies. A special team was constituted under the supervision of superintendent police (Investigation) City Division consisting Shariqabad deputy superintendent police (DSP) and Ravi Town in charge of Investigation, which tracked Nadeem alias Goonga gang and arrested seven of its members. The gang had looted a truck loaded with plastic material worth Rs 2.7 million as well as cash and cell phones on June 1 in Ravi Town from Jilani Plastic Centre and escaped from the scene.
They were also involved in looting passenger vans. Fourteen other cases have also been traced against them in Faisalabad and Lahore. The police recovered a truck, a wagon, 250 bags of plastic material, seven mobile phones, seven pistols and bullets from their possession. The arrested were identified as Nadeem alias Goonga, Shahid Iqbal, Zahid Sohail, Abdul Sattar, Waseem, Abdul Razzaq and Abbas.
