Lahore: Labourer, son shot dead by unidentified assailants
LAHORE: An old labourer and his son were gunned down by two unidentified motorcyclists early on Saturday morning, when they were coming out of their house in Shadbagh. Noor Muhammad (55) a resident of Yasrab Colony, Shadbagh was going out with his son Umar Farooq (20) on Saturday, when two motorcyclists appeared in the street and suddenly opened fire on them. Noor Muhammad and Umar Farooq received severe bullet injuries and fell down. The assailants fled.
The neighbours reached the scene and took the injured to Mayo Hospital where doctors pronounced both of them dead. The bodies were sent for an autopsy and the police started investigation after registering a case.
The investigators believe that Noor Muhammad and his son were murdered over a domestic dispute. They said that during the initial interrogation, it was found that Noor Muhammad had been married twice and had recently shifted in his Yasrab Colony house after differences within the family.
An old man died while his two sons were severely injured on Saturday morning when their bike collided with a rickshaw in Shalimar. Muhammad Sharif (55) was going with his sons Jamil (22) and Liaqat (26) on their motorcycle bearing the registration number LRE-1981, when their motorbike collided with a rickshaw. All three motorcyclists received severe injuries and the passers-by took them to Shalimar Hospital where doctors pronounced Sharif dead while the other two were stated to be in a critical condition. Sharif’s body was handed over to the family without an autopsy.
