Karachi: Police constable shot dead
KARACHI: Two people, including a police constable, were killed on Tuesday in different incidents. Police constable Jehangir Khan was killed when unidentified men opened fire on him near his residence at sector 36C, Korangi-5, within the jurisdiction of the Korangi Industrial Area Police Station. He joined the police department twenty years ago and was posted as a driver.
He left for home at 215 a.m. and was sitting outside his house when the incident took place, it is a target killing, explained SHO Kamran Aslam. He was shot five times and a sub machine gun (SMG) was used. “We found eight empty shells from the scene,” he added.
Khan was the father of six children. His body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, from where it was sent to his hometown Zhob, Quetta for burial. FIR has been registered. Scrap dealer killed A scrap dealer Saleem Shahzad, 32, was shot dead over a money issue at Bheem Pura within the jurisdiction of the Eidgah Police Station. He was sitting outside his house with his business partners Abbas, Rahim and Qadir who killed him after a huge fight. He was rushed to the civil hospital with critical injuries where he died. FIR No. 87/08 has been registered on behalf of the deceased’s brother Yasin against the alleged offenders.
