CIA arrest four men for kidnap and murder
LAHORE: Nawankot Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) has claimed to have arrested four men accused of kidnapping and murder, stated a handout on Thursday. The police said that the accused used to kidnap people to acquire their property and then murder them with the help of hired assassins. Muhammad Ishaq, a resident of Mirpura Raiwind Road, told the police that on April 12, unidentified men had kidnapped his brother Khalil from the Overseas Pakistan Foundation (OPF) Scheme in Sattukatla. A case was registered on his application in the Sattukatla police station.
Deputy Investigation General (Investigations) Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhaira was told about the incident, who assigned the task of arresting the criminals to CIA Superintendent of Police (SP) Umer Virk. A special team was formed under the supervision of the Saddar CIA deputy superintendent of police (DSP) and other officials, who arrested the four accused.
The men confessed during interrogation that after kidnapping Khalil, they murdered him and threw his body in the Changa Manga Canal. The body was later buried by Chunia Police, who had it registered as an unidentified corpse. The police team exhumed the body and gave it to Muhammad Ishaq. The arrested were identified as Muhammad Jahangir alias Juge, Abdul Ghafoor, Haji Liaqat and Akram alias Akri. A team was also formed to arrest the other two gang members.
