NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: Apprehending forcible marriage of their 11-year old daughter by one Taj Mohammad in collusion with the police, Mohammad Hanif Solangi and Hasina, father and mother respectively of the minor girl, have sought protection from the higher authorities.
Talking to journalist here on Monday, they maintained that their relative Taj Mohammad Solangi came to their house about two months ago and demanded to give her 11-year-old daughter Maseena in marriage to his son Usman. In return, Ms Hasina sought marriage of her son Hatim with Taj Mohammad’s daughter which was rejected.
She said that after one week, Taj Mohammad again came to their house and told her that her husband (Mohammad Hanif) had agreed to get her daughter married with his son Usman, but the proposal was rejected.
Ms Hasina said that Taj Mohammad became annoyed and threatened that if she refused to give her daughter, he will get it done through use of force. She further said that Taj Mohammad and his son Usman approached Naushahro Feroze police who arrested her son Hatim about 10 days ago who was released on intervention of an influential person.
Mohammad Hanif said that on Sunday night, Taj Mohammad, his son Usman and three armed men forcibly entered their house, beat them up and tried to kidnap his daughter Maseena. Mohammad Hanif said that he went to police station on Monday but police refused to register his FIR. The victim family appealed to the higher authorities to provide them protection and also help lodge their FIR against the accused.
