Lahore: Saddar police nabs 2 criminals
LAHORE: A team of Saddar Police claimed to have arrested two criminals for kidnapping and murdering a taxi driver, said a handout on Wednesday. The accused, Arshad and Muhammad Saeed, hired Ghulam Rasool’s taxi from Johar Town and said that they were headed for Peshawar and kidnapped him near Khushab. The Johar Town police had registered a kidnapping case on June 7.
Deputy Investigation General (Investigation) Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera directed Saddar Investigation Superintendent of Police (SP) Sarfraz Ahmad Falki to arrest the criminals. A team was constituted under the supervision of Township investigation incharge, which arrested the accused Arshad and Muhammad Saeed alias Faisal. During interrogation, they had confessed to kidnapping and murdering Ghulam Rasool. They also said that they had thrown his body in a canal. They confessed that they had sold the car in Peshawar. The police recovered the weapon and the cell phone of the deceased. Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Pervez Rathore awarded cash prizes and certificates to the police raiding team.
