Karachi: 4 held for street crimes
KARACHI: Police arrested on Monday four men allegedly involved in the street crimes within the jurisdiction of Defence Police Station. The arrested men are Imran alias Choudhary Atif alias Barman, his brother Kamran and two accomplices Tariq and Arsalan alias Asif. They were arrested while planning to rob a bungalow at Phase 2, Defence, explained SHO Farooq Satti.
The police claimed to have recovered a Kalashnikov gun, one 9mm pistol, two TT pistols, saving certificates of 1.6 million rupees from their possession. “They also robbed Mohammad Hafiz, Deputy Secretary for former Prime Minister Shoukat Aziz in Islamabad,” added the officer. FIR has been registered at Margalla Police Station.
However, the sources on the condition of anonymity told Daily Times that they were arrested three days back and the police were trying to negotiate with them. Arsalan has left criminal activities, the sources added.
