NAB recovers cash, weapons from Seth Afzal’s office
LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) raided Seth Afzal’s office at 121B Model Town on Tuesday and recovered cash, gold ornaments, property documents and weapons from there.
According to the NAB sources, officials recovered an alleged “secret strong room of the Bank of Punjab” from the office. Afzal is alleged to be the principal accused in Rs 9 billion fraud case and is already in the NAB’s custody.
The officials also recovered Rs 14 million, official stamps, passports, two sets of gold jewellery worth thousands of rupees, 35 weapons, imported liquor, property documents, cheque books and details of Afzal’s secret bank accounts.
Sources said that the recovered articles had been deposited at the Chamba House. According to the NAB sources, the names of Afzal and his accomplices have been put in the exit control list (ECL).
The NAB officials recovered 22 expensive vehicles from Afzal’s house a couple of weeks ago, while four vehicles were recovered from his accomplices.
