ACE arrests LDA clerk for taking bribe
LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) arrested a Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Town Planning Branch senior clerk, Muhammad Hussain, on Wednesday, after catching him accepting a Rs 15,000 bribe.
A resident of Johar Town, Misbahur Rehman had registered a complaint to Anti-Corruption Establishment Director Chaudhry Muhammad Saddique that Hussain was demanding Rs 3,500,000 as bribe from him for Plot No 31B-III, situated in Johar Town and had already received Rs 2,000,000 in this regard. He said that later it had been found that the documents of the plot were bogus and the clerk had further demanded Rs 50,000 to correct the documents.
A team was constituted on the direction of the ACE director consisting of Special Magistrate Tariq Qureshi, which arrested the clerk while he was receiving Rs 15,000 as bribe from Rehman.
