Rawalpindi: Kidnapper gets life imprisonment
RAWALPINDI: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) No-II on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to an accused in abduction and ransom case, while his accomplices were freed. Judge Sakhi Muhammad Kahoot also ordered confiscation of property of the accused, Saeed Mehmood.
According to details, Mehmood along with his accomplices Waris Ali, Muhammad Wazarat, Yousaf Khan, Aghaz Ali, Mumtaz Hasan and Kishwar had abducted a little girl Nisha Batool from the jurisdiction of Sabzimandi police station, Islamabad, last month.
The abductors demanded Rs 3 million as ransom from the parents of the girl. Police arrested the culprits when Batool’s father went to pay ransom money to them.
Meanwhile, Additional District and Sessions Judge Ghulam Mehdi Khan awarded one-year imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000 to Yasir Mehmood and Ather Mehmood in a drug smuggling case.
