Lahore: ‘Rivals gun down 45-year-old man’
LAHORE: A 45-year-old man was gunned down by his rivals on Friday, allegedly for getting registered a case against them in Gulshan-e-Ravi Police precinct. The police said Saleem Wattoo, resident of Davis Road, was going to see his relatives in Gulshan-e-Ravi on Friday when armed men intercepted him near Choburgi and opened fire at him.
The police said the assailants fled from the scene, leaving Saleem in critical condition. He was taken to Mayo Hospital but could not survive, they added.
The police claimed that Saleem had a rivalry with his former housemaid Sonia Bibi and her accomplice Kaleem, and got registered a case against them for kidnapping his two children a year ago.
The case was pending in a local court and the decision was expected in the next two weeks, the police added. The police registered the case on the complaint of Saleem’s son. Forest employee died A Forest Department employee died in a hospital after a snake bit him near Jallo Park in Batapur Police precinct on Friday.
The police said the victim Qais, 22, went to the forest near Jallo Park where a snake bit him. He was rushed to Mayo Hospital where he was reported dead. The body was handed over to the family without autopsy.
