RAWALPINDI: A special team of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) police on Saturday morning recovered a four-year-old boy, Hamza Majid, who was kidnapped from Muslim Town area four days ago. Police also arrested one of the kidnappers.
The CIA sources told Daily Times that Majid was kidnapped on July 8 while playing outside his house. A complaint in this regard was lodged with Sadiqabad police station by Majid’s grandfather.
They said the kidnappers, who contacted with Majid’s family through different cell numbers, had demanded Rs 5 million as ransom for his safe release. The family members agreed to give Rs 2.5 million as ransom, as the kidnappers had threatened to kill Majid if they informed police.
The sources said after registration of first information report (FIR), Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Rana Shahid constituted a special team of CIA for the safe recovery of Majid.
The team, they added, scanned various cell numbers through a sophisticated detecting system and drew a map to conduct a raid on the exact location where Majid was being kept by the kidnappers. They said the child was locked up in a house in Khushab. After complete preparation the CIA team raided the house and recovered Majid unharmed besides arresting one of the kidnappers. Two other kidnappers, including the ringleader, managed to escape, the sources said.
