Lahore: ‘4 men kill sister’s foetus, husband’
LAHORE: Four men fired at their pregnant sister and her husband, killing the eight-month foetus and their bother-in-law in Jamal Colony, Hanjerwal on Monday, the police said. The police said the couple had been identified as Rabia, 23, and Imran, 30, a van conductor, while the assailants as Amjad, Fazil and Mehboob. One of the assailants was unidentified, they added.
The investigation officer said Imran, a van conductor, fell in love with Rabia a year ago and married her, despite resistance from their elders. He said the accused had a grudge against their sister and her husband for marrying against the will of their families. They had been planning to attack the couple for the last ten months, he added. He said the assailants fled from the scene after killing Imran and injuring his wife. Imran died on the spot, the police said, adding that his wife was taken to Jinnah Hospital where her foetus was declared dead due to the bullet injuries. Imran’s body was sent for autopsy. The police registered a case against the killers on the complaint of Imran’s mother. No arrests had been made till the filing of this report.
