Rawalpindi: Police recover kidnapped boy
RAWALPINDI: Police have recovered a kidnapped boy and an old man in two different operations and have arrested the kidnappers, said City Police Officer (CPO) Rao Muhammad Iqbal while addressing a press briefing at CIA Headquarters on Thursday.
He said a four-year-old Hamza Mujahid was kidnapped for ransom from Muslim Colony, Sadiqabad on July 8. The kidnappers contacted boy’s grandfather Abdur Rehman through different cell numbers and demanded Rs 5 million as ransom for his safe release, he said. Iqbal said a special team of CIA investigated Abdul Nazir, a relative of Rehman, who admitted his crime. On information provided by Nazir, police arrested his companions Adil Hameed and Mubarik Khan and recovered the boy.
