Lahore: Rape victim’s family demands security
LAHORE: The family of a rape victim has demanded that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif provide them with security in the wake of threats by the brothers of the accused.
The girl’s father Muhammad Iqbal, who was demonstrating along with other family members in front of the Lahore Press Club on Saturday, said that Ashraf had allegedly raped his 13-year-old daughter a few days ago. He said that Ashraf’s brothers, Arshad and Rehmat, were now threatening to throw acid on the victim’s face and had also threatened to kill the family. He demanded the authorities arrest Ashraf’s brothers and register cases against them. Ashraf is already in jail after the police registered a rape case against him. The victim and the accused are neigbours and residents of Aliabad, Sattukattla.
