Lahore: Police arrest five street criminals
LAHORE: Shafiqabad Police claim to have arrested five street criminals on Monday. According to a police handout issued on Monday, a police team also seized Rs 6,000 in cash, four mobile phones, five illegal pistols and bullets from the arrested gangsters. The police said that the arrested men confessed to involvement in 14 street crimes during preliminary interrogation.
The five men, said to be members of Alam Zaib alias Zabi Pathan Gang lived in rented houses in different localities of the city, met at nights and used rented motorcycles to flee after they had snatched cash, mobile phones and valuables from people, mostly pedestrians.
Police said that at least nine cases had been registered against them. The arrested men were identified as Gang leader Alam Zaib alias Zabi, Hafeezullah, Nazmeen Khan, Mukarram Khan and Shahbaz Khan. Capital City Police Officer Pervez Rathore has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police team.
