Rawalpindi: 2 houses robbed, three vehicles lifted
RAWALPINDI: Robbers took away 26 tolas of gold and cash in two incidents of house robbery here on Monday, said police. Muhammad Saeed, a resident of Ghaznavi Road, lodged a complaint with Ganjmandi police station, claiming he and his family members were not at home when robbers entered his house after cutting door locks. He said the robbers took away 25 tolas of gold worth over Rs 0.6 million.
A case has been registered against unidentified robbers and investigations are in progress. In another incident, Muhammad Javed, a resident of Chungi No-22, lodged a complaint with RA Bazaar police station that some unknown robbers broke into his house and looted one tola of gold and Rs 13000 in cash.
Meanwhile, three people were deprived of their vehicles in the limits of various police stations. According to police, Shahzad Ahmad, a cabby, lodged a complaint with Morgah police station claiming two unidentified armed persons snatched his cab when he was driving on Adiala Road late Sunday night.
Police have registered a case and started investigation to arrest the culprits. In another incident, Muhammad Zeeshan’s car was lifted from Chaudhry Zafarul Haq Road in the limits of Waris Khan police station, while a car belonging to Atif Rehman was lifted from the parking area of the District Headquarters Hospital in the limits of Ganjmandi police station.
