Karachi: Transport Secy ‘killers’ arrested
KARACHI: Police have arrested two men suspected of being involved in the murder of Sindh Deputy Secretary (Transport) Agha Dhani Bux Pathan, who was found dead at Hawkesbay on Monday morning.
The arrested men were identified as Raja Zeeshan and Shakil by South Zone DIG Iqbal Mehmood at a press conference Wednesday night. They were arrested from Maripur near Hawkesbay with the help of mobile phone records.
Pathan was killed over a dispute over six million rupees. Mehmood claimed that after initial interrogations, Zeeshan confessed that Pathan was his partner in the buying and selling of land. Zeeshan allegedly told the police that he had suffered a six-million rupee loss because of Pathan.
Zeeshan allegedly phoned Pathan and called him to his house at Shadman Town on the pretext of discussing some land. When he arrived, they made him sign for his car, which was worth about the same amount. Then they killed him.
The investigation team comprised DSP Faisal Noor, SHO Azam Mirza and SIO Choudhry M Afzal. A mechanic named Arif who used to work at Akbar Road also helped the police as Zeeshan went to his shop for the car’s tracker system. The police claimed to have recovered one rifle and documents with stamps and others goods from their possession.
