Lahore: Youth injured by robbers dies
LAHORE: A 21-year-old youth, who was shot at an injured by two robbers in Awan Town, Sabzazar, on Tuesday night, succumbed to his injuries in a local hospital early on Wednesday.
Mian Sajjad, of B–Block, Hassan Town, and his father Khalid, both employees of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, were on their way on a motorcycle (LEL-9304) when two robbers took them on gunpoint in Awan Town.
When robbers tried to snatch bike, Sajjad offered resistance upon which they shot at him and fled. Sajjad was taken to Jinnah Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries next morning.
The Sabzazar police registered a case on the complaint of Khalid and sent the body for an autopsy.
Meanwhile, locals have condemned the police for its failure in controlling the rising crime. They said the area had become safe haven of dacoits and robbers who were playing havoc with the lives and properties of innocent citizens.
