Rawalpindi: 2 get life term for kidnapping boy
RAWALPINDI: Anti-Terrorism Court No-II on Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to two kidnappers and ordered seizure of their movable and immovable property.
Judge Sakhi Muhammad Kahoot awarded life imprisonment to Sikandar Hayat and Zaheer Ahmed for kidnapping a boy Muzamil Mumtaz for ransom from the limits of Westridge police station. Later they released the boy after taking Rs 1 million.
The accused were also nominated in another case of possessing illegal arms. The court also awarded them one-year imprisonment and Rs 5,000 fine each. Later they were shifted to Adiala Jail.
Court seeks SHO’s comments on 28th Additional District and Sessions Judge Ghulam Mehdi Khan on Wednesday summoned Station House Officer (SHO) Pirwadhai police station to submit his comments on July 28 in response to an application filed by a citizen Muhammad Khan.
In his petition Muhammad Khan claimed that accused Aftab and Mehtab stole costly machines from his soda water factory on July 3. Khan pleaded that he had approached Pirwadhai police station to register a case against the accused but SHO Raja Shakeel Shafqat refused to register his complaint. The court summoned the SHO on July 28 to submit his comments on the application.
