Hyderabad: Banned outfit’s activist held
HYDERABAD: Police arrested an activist of a proscribed jihadi outfit here on Thursday, who was identified as Shakeel Burney, allegedly belonging to a group led by now jailed Akram Lahori.
Sources in police department said that the accused was involved in bomb explosions in Karachi, murder of two policemen and two members of Shia community in Karachi and wanted to Orangi Town and Korangi police stations in many cases.
The sources said that he allegedly used to deal in explosives. He was arrested by security agencies who then handed him over to Baldia police.
Two cases involving possession of unlicensed weapon and spreading religious disharmony had been lodged against him, the sources said.
