Lahore: LHC dismisses bail application in fake visa case
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday dismissed the bail application of a man accused of issuing fake South African visas. The court also cancelled the pre arrest bail granted to the accused by the special judge (central) on June 6, 2008.
The case was lodged against Kaleem Abbas of Hariwala, Gujrat on the complaint of Imran Ali under section 171822 of the Immigration Ordinance by the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA), on January 31, 2007.
Imran alleged that Kaleem had taken Rs 250,000 from him for issuing a South African visa. He said that Kaleem had issued him the visa but he (Imran) was off-loaded from the plane for having a fake visa, when he tried to fly to South Africa. The South African Embassy verified the visa was fake.
