Policeman gunned down in Quetta
QUETTA: Unidentified gunmen killed a traffic policeman and injured one other on Tuesday evening, police said. Two unidentified motorcyclists gunned down the policeman on Quetta’s Prince Road on Tuesday evening. Ahmed Sher was killed at the scene, while his colleague Mohammad Younas was injured.
Younas was taken to Civil Hospital for treatment. His condition is reported to be stable. Police said they have registered a case against ‘unknown assailants’ and the search for the gunmen was underway. Though no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, the murder of the traffic policeman appeared to be a part of the ongoing cycle of ‘target killings’ of policemen by Baloch nationalists. So far, around fifty personnel from the police and other law enforcement agencies have been killed in such attacks in Balochistan.
