Robbed after returning to Karachi in 15 yrs to visit mother in hospital
KARACHI: A man who returned to Karachi after 15 years to visit his mother in hospital was robbed at its gates by at least three men allegedly posing as police officers on Tuesday. Agha Masood Hussain, who is a transport supervisor in Logistic Solution Company, went straight from the airport to the Karachi Institute of Heart and Diseases (KIHD) in Federal B Area. He was accompanied by his nephew, Agha Ahsan Hussain. His mother was admitted to KIHD after a heart attack.
The suspected policemen had been following them from the airport in a white Toyota Corolla with ATZ in its license plates, a blue police light and wireless set. They intercepted the car when Hussain reached the main gate of the hospital. Two men in civvies thoroughly searched Hussain and found 8,500 Dirhams on his person. A person in police uniform was sitting in the car. They took off with his money. The Yousaf Plaza police registered a complaint by Hussain but have yet to recover the money.
