Businessman shot dead in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: A man was shot dead on Friday at a wedding ceremony in the limits of Gangmandi police station. Police officials told Daily Times that Ikhlaq Ahmed, 33, was shot dead by Kashif Mehmood.
Ikhlaq Ahmed’s brother Mushtaq Ahmed lodged the case with the police, stating that Mehmood had killed his brother at the behest of his business partner Amir, who had invited him to the wedding ceremony. Amir, he stated, caused the murder out of professional jealousy.
The police officials said Amir`s relative exchanged harsh words with Ikhlaq before shooting him dead. They said Ikhlaq died on the spot as bullets hit his head, adding the attacker had managed to escape. The dead body has been handed over to the aggrieved family after postmortem. A case has been registered and investigation launched.
