Lahore: ‘No bail for wheat smuggler’
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Friday rejected the pre-arrest bail application of a food inspector from Gujranwala for his alleged involvement in a wheat smuggling case.
The court held that Latif was involved in wheat smuggling and could not be given bail. The Food Dept had seized six wheat-laden trucks. Latif and a co-accused tried to get the trucks released. Latif said, “I have no concern with the wheat trucks.” A deputy prosecutor general said Latif was caught red-handed.
