Rawalpindi: Dispute over garbage: Woman killed, six from one family injured
RAWALPINDI: A woman was killed and six others injured in a dispute over garbage throwing in a street on Monday. According to the police, Waheed indiscriminately opened fire on family of Ghafoor, killing his sister Sahaheen, 35, and injuring Nida, 12, Jan Bibi, 48, Farzana, 28, Khurum Shahzad, 21, Muhammad Nazak, 42 and Zardar Khan, 45. 1122 have shifted the injured to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.
The police said that Waheed had managed to escape but his brother Naseeb had been arrested. A murder and attempt of murder cases have been registered against the accused. The police were reported that Ghafoor exchanged harsh words with Waheed and slapped him because the later was throwing garbage in front of the former’s house. The incident provoked Waheed to open indiscriminate fire on Ghafoor’s family. The dead body has been handed over to the aggrieved family after autopsy. Meanwhile, a man drowned in Nullah Leh near Mohalla Raja Sultan. Rescue 1122 divers had recovered the body, said its spokesperson Ahamd Chohan. He said Muhammad Adnan, 25, drowned in the Nullah and was declared dead at DHQ. His body has been handed over to his family.
