Couple among five killed in Pindi
RAWALPINDI: Five people including a couple on Tuesday lost their lives in the city in separate incidents. Police said Bahadur Khan along with his wife Khalida were shot down in Kot Jabbi area of Saddar Bairooni. The couple had been living in the city for the last two years after getting married in Mardan against the will of their parents.
The police didn’t register FIR of the murder, saying they’re waiting for the slain couple’s families for the purpose. They, however, took bodies into custody.
In another incident, unidentified armed men killed a man and injured two others outside the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) offices near Fowara Chowk.
Shahzada Khan succumbed to injuries in District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital, while his two family members, Allah Dad and Karam Dad, were under treatment. The body was later handed over to the aggrieved family after autopsy.
The police began investigation into the incident after registering a case. Naseerabad also reported killing of Shaukat Javed by unidentified assailants. He died on the way to the DHQ hospital. The police will hand over the body to aggrieved family after autopsy. Police said investigation was underway to trace the assailants.
Meanwhile, a speeding truck hit a motorcycle near Katarian killing one Murtaza, 18, and injuring his friends Mustafa, 17, and Rabnawaz, 15. The injured were under treatment at Holy Family Hospital. The police registered a case against the driver, who fled soon after the incident.
In another incident, two motorcyclists, Syed Nauman and Abdul Majeed, suffered injuries after their bikes collided head-on Zam Zam Bakery. They are under treatment at DHQ hospital.
Meanwhile, a moneychanger’s shop on the Mall in Saddar and a house in Khanna Pul area were gutted due to electric shot circuit.
