Karachi: Local ANP leader killed
KARACHI: A leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) was killed Wednesday night. Sardar Khan, 34, a resident of ‘B’ area Qayyumabad was sitting with some of his friends at ‘C’ area in the jurisdiction of the Korangi Industrial Area. He was shot in the head after an exchange of strong words and a fight. He was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC), where he succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased’s brother, Dildar, has claimed that he was shot by his own friends, one of them is named Younus and the other one is unidentified. They are absconding. He added that the motive behind the killing is not known. The police is registering a case on behalf of Dildar.
However, SHO Mukhtar Khaskheli said that the deceased was said to be a local leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), and was the president of the ANP Qayyumabad Unit. After the incident, tension gripped the area and people started aerial firing.
In another incident, Emran Hussain, 34, was found dead in his house in Hussainabad, in the jurisdiction of the Azizabad PS. He was married for a third time to a woman named Faiza almost one and a half months ago, and had earlier, divorced his two previous wives. On the day of incident, one of the divorced wives, Amna, came to the house along with two men.
Faiza said that Hussain forced her to leave the house. “When I came back, I found my husband dead, and Amna and her accomplices gone,” she claimed. SHO Asim Rehman informed Daily Times that Hussain was strangled and tortured. The FIR on behalf of Faiza against Amna and her two accomplices has been registered.
