Karachi: MQM leader Rizvi escapes attempt on life
KARACHI: MQM senior leader Haider Abbas Rizvi escaped an alleged assassination attempt on Sunday unhurt, said the party. Rizvi’s car was attacked in the Pak Colony area as he was on his way to a graveyard, said MQM spokesman Faisal Sabzwari. He added that Rizvi’s gunman was injured and was taken to hospital.
The attackers fled from the scene, and no group has taken responsibility for the attack. Rizvi is the deputy opposition leader in the National Assembly, and on Friday had said that MQM will support President Pervez Musharraf.
