Lahore: 1,650 kites, string seized
LAHORE: Gujarpura police seized 1,650 kites and 67 rolls of kite string from a kite go down. The go down owner, Muhammad Nasar, was also arrested. A case was registered against him under the Anti-Kite Act. Police claimed that accused supplied kites and strings to local shopkeepers. Meanwhile, Shalimar police arrested a man and a woman and recovered 70 bottles of foreign liquor from them.
The accused were identified as Naveed Hameed and Nasreen Bibi. Harbanspura police claimed to have arrested two dacoits, Sajjad and Asghar, and recovered a stolen bike and illegal weapons from them. The accused confessed to 10 crimes. Mustafabad police arrested two alleged thieves, Ahsan and Afzal, and recovered a stolen van and illegal arms from them. The Operations SSP has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police teams.
