Islamabad: 1,430 bottles of liquor recovered in Tarlai Kalan
ISLAMABAD: In a raid on a liquor–manufacturing unit in Tarlai Kalan, the Shahzad Town Police recovered 1,430 bottles of wine and arrested three men, police said on Tuesday. DSP (Shahzad Town Circle) Ishaq Warraich received information that a liquor factory was running under the supervision of influential people of the area. The caller asked him to conduct a raid.
Meanwhile, patrolmen of the Shahzad Town Police Station intercepted a vehicle (MNN–8235) and recovered 250 bottles of liquor. Two car riders were taken into custody.
During preliminary investigation after registration of a case, the two arrested men, identified as Abdul Nadeem and Muhammad Yousaf, both residents of Rawalpindi, disclosed that the factory in Tarlai Kalan used to supply liquor in various localities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Acting on the tip-off, a police team conducted a raid and recovered 1,180 bottles of liquor in addition to two machines, drums and empty bottles.
SSP (Operations) Captain (r) Ahmad Latif appreciated the performance of Shahzad Town Police and directed them to further intensify patrolling.
