Lahore: Court orders registration of FIR against SHO
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday directed the SP City to register a criminal case against the station house officer (SHO) Shahdara for keeping two people in illegal detention. Justice Akram Qureshi ordered the SP to produce the FIR against the SHO before court today (Wednesday). He passed these orders in a petition filed by Bashir Ahmed who contended that some police officials raided his house on August 20 and took his son Tanvir and nephew Nadeem with them. He said the victims were neither involved in any criminal activities nor were required by police in any criminal case, alleging that they were severely tortured by police.
A court bailiff raided the police station and recovered the victims from the lock up. He informed the court that neither any arrest entry nor any case was registered against the victims. The court got the detainees medically examined which proved that they were tortured.
On court directions, SP City and the SHO were present in the courtroom and SHO on court query confessed about the offense of keeping the detainees in his illegal custody and exposed himself for a criminal case.
