Karachi: Matric student killed
KARACHI: A 15–year–old Matric student died in front of her younger brother after a bullet penetrated their car from the crossfire of a robbery taking place next to them. Sidra Siddiqui and her younger brother were on their way home to Block 14 from school on Friday in Gulistan–e-Johar with their driver Hakim Ali. Two armed men on a motorcycle were robbing an old couple on their motorcycle, said SIO Shakil Ahmed.
A young man nearby opened fire on them and the robbers returned fire. During the crossfire, one bullet went through the body of the car and hit Sidra. Hakim Ali immediately rushed her to Aga Khan Hospital but she died before reaching. The police registered FIR No. 443/08 on behalf of her uncle Imran Khan, a retired colonel from the Pakistan Army. Sidra’s father used to work as a general manager at in a semi–government cement factory.
