Karachi: Teenage girl killed in crossfire
KARACHI: A schoolgirl while returning home in her car was shot dead while two groups were exchanging fire over a dispute. A case was registered at the Gulistan–e-Jauhar police station. Sidra, 15, was killed in a firing incident in the Gulistan–e-Jauhar police limits. The police said that the incident was reported on Javed Alvi Road while she was returning home from school in her car when two groups started firing due to which a bullet hit the girl from behind.
Hakim Ali driver of the car said that he was working with Shakoor Siddiqi as a driver and had just joined him a few months back. The residence Siddiqui was situated in Block–4, Gulistan–i-Jauhar. On Friday morning he went to Habib Public School to bring Sidra home from school.
After picking her up on his way back home he heard the sound of firing. He accelerated and from the back mirror saw two groups firing at each other. Sidra’s last words were “Chacha mujhay goli lag gai hai” (“I have been shot”). He immediately rushed her to a hospital but she succumbed to her injuries. Sidra was a Matric student and was very intelligent. The deceased has one brother also.
